Rock on

I typically don't update this in the morning, but I just noticed that many of the last entries have been pretty angry and unfriendly. So, I've decided to post these crazy images of Tom Cruise and the coin bird to cheer everyone up. Hoooiaj!

Cactus Jack

It's a comedy of errors, it is.

Nite crawler

You'll have to think about this one for a moment if you don't get it right away.

You all remember the story about the hen who goes out and prepares all the ingredients to make bread, which she then bakes? And when her friends who neglected to help with the preparation ask for some, she gives some to them anyway? Were you ever told the version where the hen decides her friends don't get any bread? I think my mentality is totally that of the second hen. The reason I keep acting like the first is because I need to use those dishes, too.

Sorry. Midterm tomorrow.

Disconnected by your smile

So the top three movies at the box office are currently:

  1. Kangaroo Jack
  2. National Security
  3. Just Married

Kill me now. And then do yourself a favor and watch the new Matrix trailer.

Cosmo plant

Do you ever get to the point, after you've only gotten a few hours of sleep, where you're not tired but your eyes are like, WHHHOOOOAAHHHOOOOoo. (?) I don't even need all those drugs.

All those hypothetical drugs!

I just had my first photo critique with the much-feared Richard Ross and it really didn't end up involving all the brutality and literal murder it was hyped to. The only piece he tore up was just some random photo from an old class he had put up on the wall. Ha!

Seoul road

Yay for random apartment gatherings with people.

But now for something more important: here is a recent video clip of my roommate.

HA HA HA.

The general situation

"Owns" is the absolute stupidest expression ever. Don't use it. You sound dumb.

Mr. Xcitement

It's official: John Linnell and Yasunori Mitsuda are the same person.

Observations on my digital media lecture:

  • Tonight we learned:
    1. what happens when you resize images
    2. how to use levels in Photoshop
  • The professor didn't know what right-clicking was. Granted, he's a Mac user, but he had no idea.

Other observations: Mink Car is really good.

Beats in my head

Earlier tonight we watched this pseudo-educational video, "The Rise and Fall of the Great Lakes." I live with weird people.

Rattle and hum

<Me> I can't believe his name isn't even just "Edge," it's "The Edge."
<Morgan> Wait, is that his real name?
<Me> No!

Flying over the dateline

I've been back for a little over 50 hours and already my desk is such a mess.

I'm thinking I may not be cut out for the whole college thing. I've realized that there are certain aspects of it that bother me. You know, like the going-to-class thing, and the doing-homework thing. And the getting-up-early thing, and the reading-textbooks thing, and you know. Money thing, scheduling thing, just stuff like that. Ideally I would sit around all day drawing stuff and playing videogames. Probably some U2 would not hurt, either. Or just Bono. bonooooo

HAOOY NEW YEAR!

So earlier today electromaz.com went down again, making this the third or fourth time in the last 30 days or so, and that's not even including when the whole server got hacked back in November. I sent my Webhost a decidedly more-displeased-than-usual note, since, on the rollercoaster ride of satisfaction this host has been, this is definitely one of the lows. Here's the response they sent:

Dear client, our servers were down today due to a mistake our datacenter made. We currently are totally up and functional once again. Your data was almost lost today but due to the hard work of our team here at Istacia we were able to get our server hard drive back and functional once again. I'm sure you can deal with the few hours of downtime we've faced today considering you almost lost your data. We are terribly sorry about the downtime today, as you can imagine. And we do realize your web site / account has faced a lot of downtime in the past week. But from here on out you're going to be dealing with one reliable host. If you have any other problems please feel free to open up another support ticket. Thanks — Istacia Team!

I think my absolute favorite part is when they point out that the downtime is totally acceptable, since the alternative was losing all my data (which already happened before), and I should be relieved or something. I really don't know what to write in response to that. It makes my brain hurt.
