iMac G5

iMac G5

I try to avoid the whole crazy-over-new-Apple-stuff routine, but look at that thing. Insane! Where do they put the computer? The next iMac is probably going to be a just pair of goggles. I want a neapolitan milkshake.

Yet more Katamari Damacy

It appears, to my great relief, that the oft-mentioned (by me) Katamari Damacy is retaining its original name for its American release. This is based on a recent Gamespot preview that sports a romanized version of the logo which I can't remember ever seeing on the Japanese Website. Also, considering the September 21st release date that several sites have reported, it seems pretty late for Namco to go changing the title around.

It's a relief because I was expecting the game to show up over here with some horrendous Americanized title, like Soulclumpers or Drakengard, for example.

I should also mention that the official site also has some new wallpapers (probably in preparation for the upcoming sequel), including some wonderful takes on the original box art that look like they were painted on canvas. If you can't find the download section, it's the one where the navigation menu is flipping you off. (Seriously, go look.)

ROSHIAN RUURETTO

On the way down to Oxnard on Sunday, we stopped at the Ventura Golf n' Stuff, home to the only F-ZERO AX machine I've seen (outside of E3). Much to my surprise, tucked away in the corner was a Guitar Freaks 8th Mix machine. which happened to feature Tomoyasu Hotei's "RUSSIAN ROULETTE" as one of the songs. It was pretty difficult to keep up with the pace at times, but I have to say that playing fake guitar along to an insane Tomoyasu Hotei song is one of the greatest gaming experiences you can have.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the "wailing bonus." I'll have to wear a ninja hood next time.

Part of this balanced breakfast

I'm now back at home. While I was at the apartment, aside from buying an awesome TV, I finally managed to get some photos and measurements on some of the work I did during spring quarter. Here is round one of updates:

  1. Pea!
  2. Toats!

More later.

Typin' on muh keyboard

In a strange turn of events, when I woke up this morning I was back in Santa Barbara until Thursday.

So Morgan and I went down to Oxnard ([coming soon to this spot: some Oxnard-related comment Ken made]) to go TV shopping at Best Buy. After some scrutinizing between brands we decided to go with a monstrous Phillips flatscreen CRT, because of positive experiences with Phillips TVs in the past, and because I would feel weird owning a Daewoo set. As luck would have it, that particular model was out of stock. So, if you have any interesting, last minute television recommendations, feel free to let me know (unless you work for Daewoo). Otherwise, we're probably heading back down there on Wednesday after they've supposedly restocked.

Also, being away from Freebirds for several months + not eating anything (save for Q-Cup) until 11 PM = best burrito ever.
