Yes. Aside from that, today will also be known as the day Steve Carell made his triumphant return to the Daily Show.

I have not updated this page in quite a while. I think it is mostly due to this quarter becoming extra-busy in the last few weeks. That all culminated today with heightened madness surrounding my psychology final, which I thought was tomorrow. So, yes. Fortunately, Sarah was thoughtful enough to leave a final-related away message up and I managed to show up about forty minutes late, with not quite all of the material reviewed. It was definitely not my finest hour. However, my TAs have informed me that I'll probably be kicking photo and digital media both in the face, and I can live with that. Photo has been a ridiculous rollercoaster of non-instruction. Our four projects for the quarter were presented to us with more or less these guidelines:

1. Self portrait: Do a self portrait.
2. Book project: Do a book project, somehow incorporating text.
3. Mixed-media project: Do a project involving mixed media.
4. Final project: Do a project.

So you can see how that might have become frustrating after a certain point. Open-endedness is very nice, but always in moderation.

Then there's digital media, which is a similar story, although not without its own unique set of quirks which you may have picked up by reading my Tuesday night updates this quarter. – Whatever song just started playing is good. – It had about the same amount of project freedom, although there were special hidden guidelines, like having to conform to the professor's own personal aesthetic in order for him to like your projects and thus give you a good grade. Fortunately I happen to like a similar aesthetic (Although it's not quite present here -- That's something I want to change.) so things went over without too much of a fuss. Not an extremely enjoyable (or beneficial) lecture, though. Also, a digital design class that churns out a bunch of people creating Websites that use giant JPEGs of text rather than actual text has some issues which need to be dealt with. However, I am done with that now.
